Scratch removal

Knives can present with scratches that vary greatly in depth.

Our standard procedure is to buff and polish the blade at the cutting edge. We will polish out any light scratches that our polishing wheels can happily remove.

Deeper scratches are more persistent to remove fully.

To remove the deepest scratches the top surface material of the blade needs to be removed until the scratch disappears. This invariably leads to elimination of logo branding on the blade along with any engraving.

When we receive a knife into our workshops we will not know the depth of scratching until we have the knife in our hands to inspect it.

The image below shows a set of reconditioned Global knives with all deep scratching removed. The branding has gone and the blades are finished to a beautiful brushed satin sheen.
