Vertical blade bends — Blade & Butler

TAKE AWAY QUICK READ - We will always achieve best case outcomes with blade bend corrections. Though they cannot be guaranteed due to variation of steel and malleability - some blades simply will not correct themselves. Be safe in the knowledge that you have received the best outcome possible for your knife.

Vertical blade bends — Blade & Butler

At Blade & butler we perform many types of blade repair but the most challenging is the vertical blade bend.

Bends relatively near to the tip of the blade can usually always be fixed however bends further along the blade towards the handle can be more challenging.

It is important to note that knives are made from many types of steel and therefore some knives are more amenable to correction than others.

It is possible to snap a blade when attempting to correct a vertical bend. Blade & Butler will always use discretion and care when attempting a fix to ensure a best case outcome.

In some cases if we think it's best for the knife, we'll correct the bend slightly, completely or not at all.

It is preferable that you receive back a straighter but not perfect knife, than a knife in two pieces!
